Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
OE Design Failure: Cracks and voids worn into circuit boards; broken solder joints cause premature failure.
CARQUEST Design: Two problem-solving TPS designs. The first, featured in CARQUEST contact-type TPS sensors, incorporates a flexible polyester board material, spring pressure clips and precision-matched conductive circuit board ink and contacts. CARQUEST now also offers sophisticated non-contact TPS sensors equipped with Hall Effect integrated circuitry.
CARQUEST Advantage: Contact-type sensors offer 2X the life of units with OE circuit boards. They also eliminate failure-prone solder connections and offer excellent resistance to heat and vibration. CARQUEST non-contact sensors eliminate all mechanical and thermal wear issues associated with conventional designs.
